NEPA seeking beach compliance - Lead Stories - Jamaica Gleaner - Friday | February 24, 2012

So AFTER, the boys died, the regulator has started running around seeking to do what they should have been doing all along. This is talk, talk & nothing but talk. A lawsuit against the regulators among others, seeking heavy damages seems to be in order. That appears to be a more effective way of making them do their jobs than just trusting them. "Ainsley Henry, director of the Application and Management Division at NEPA, told The Gleaner that the licence to operate the Shan Shy beach was last renewed in 2001." Is it the norm for the regulator to put us at risk by allowing beach operators to be in breach like this for 10 years? If so, then in what other areas are they similarly lax?
